5 out of 5 stars Very Close to the Real Thing   November 28, 2007

I have made these muffins several times. Usually I add 1 cup of frozen blue berries and they turn out great. The last time I made them, I added about 1 cup of fresh cranberries and the zest of two oranges. I loved the orange-cranberry muffins more than the blueberry muffins, but both were great. The texture is outstanding, which is usually my biggest issue with gluten free food.

The only drawback is, after you bake them, the muffins seem to have a short self life. Once cooked, they are really good for few hours fresh out of the oven. The next day they are 80-90% as good if you warm them up in the microwave. By day two... there are not so good. I have never tried to freeze them.

Enjoy.

2 out of 5 stars Make your own muffins   April 11, 2007

I thought these muffins tasted like white rice bread which isn't very tasty. I've made my own muffins mixing brown rice flour, tapioca flour, and potato starch flour and they are a million times better. Won't buy these again. I expected these to be as close to the real thing as the Glutino crackers are to regular crackers(not the tomato basil but the plain ones) but they weren't.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Gluten Free Muffins!   March 21, 2007

These are as close to the real thing as it gets. I added chocolate chips to half of the batter and crasins (dried cranberries) to the other half. I have had celiacs for almost 2 years now and these are the best gluten free product I have eaten! I had to hide them from the rest of my family b/c they liked them as well!

5 out of 5 stars These muffins are awesome   February 4, 2007

The muffins are plain without add-ins, but the box is a plain muffin mix, so you know that before you bake it. I've added apples and apple sauce and cinnamon and they turned out great. I've also tried blueberries and those turned out good as well.

The muffins have a nice nutty flavor and don't need any butter to taste good (I'm a butter fanatic, by the way).

My 2 1/2 year old son cannot have gluten items and these muffins are very adaptable and tasty. I add fresh apples, bananas, or carrots with crushed pineapple plus some cinnamon or nutmeg and he loves these muffins! They are a bit plain without the additions, though.
