3 out of 5 stars Too "wheaty" for my kids   July 16, 2008
5Blessings (Maryland, USA)
I know that's a strange description for a gluten free product, but that's what the appearance, taste and smell reminded me of. I feel like I must have received a different product than all the other reviewers, because we didn't care for this mix...it seems I'm the only one! The texture was pretty good, and the pancakes were very fluffy. They were a little dry, but not too bad. I ended up giving away the remainder of the case because I knew we wouldn't use it. I wasn't even going to review this item, but I thought maybe our experience may help someone.

5 out of 5 stars This mix is a regular in our house   June 20, 2008

My sons are picky eaters but this mix makes great pancakes that they all like. I add extra liquid and oil to make them less dense. I add bananas or fresh blueberries and the kids love them. They also freeze well.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Gluten-Free Pancake Mix on the market   June 16, 2008
Chocolate Lover (Columbus, OH)
This is by far the best gluten-free pancake mix on the market and I have tried all the rest. This is as close as I have come to normal pancakes. If you like thicker pancakes, add more mix than the recipe on the back calls for and you will be set. These pancakes also freeze well.

4 out of 5 stars Okay, but I have a better recipe!   May 27, 2008

These pancakes were okay, but a bit dense. This past week I ran out of the Bob's Red Mill pancake mix, and turned to the pancake recipe in Carol Fenster's book "Gluten-Free Quick & Easy." I had to make her flour mix, and then use that to make her pancake mix. Then I could make her pancakes. It was worth the effort, for her pancakes were much improved over the product I got from Bob's Red Mill. Carol's recipe gave pancakes that were much lighter and fluffier than Bob's. I'll be using Carol's flour mix from now on. I think it may be the sorghum flour in her blend that makes the big difference!

5 out of 5 stars Great GF option for pancakes   April 10, 2008
J. Bojkov (Texas)
This is a great mix with some actual nutrition to it- rare in the GF world. It tastes great with good texture. I add a few chocolate chips to each pancake as I make them ( I prepare the whole package at one time) and then freeze them for my daughter. She reheats them in the microwave in the morning for a quick breakfast. If you bother to put a damp paper towel over them as they are microwaved, it gives a better result close to off the gridle.
