Simply Awesome March 23, 2008 M. Nunn (Southern Georgia) I'd tried being gluten free about 4 years ago, completely discouraged by how expensive everything was. How nasty the food tasted (garbonzo bean flour? Buckwheat? BLECH!) and a family of 4 other people who COULD eat gluten, I quit and just said to heck with my health, I'll try again some other time. Plus, I *am* such a good cook, it was *very* discouraging to make this food, with all these expensive ingredients and have it taste disgusting! Well that other time is now, because now my 2 sons, ages 7 and 8 need to be gluten free as well. I'm scared and worried about how they are going to react when separated from their beloved waffles, bread and cookies. The DAY we find out we are going to have to go gluten free as a household, we happen to go into our local discount department store and I find these boxes. I of course buy 5 of them, hoping against hope that they don't taste like cardboard and that my boys will be happy with them.
The next morning, I cook them up, they *smell* good. My boys are hovering. I taste test (after the first time I made waffles with another brand my 7 year STILL remembers the day of the Yucky Waffles made with Momma's flour) and they are GOOD, they are BETTER than GOOD, they are as tasty as my regular waffles! And I hadn't added anything to them (no spices or vanilla) My youngest son was also about to turn 7 and as our flour order hadn't come in yet I was in a bind as to how to make him a cake. I used this mix, added some unsweetened cocoa and some sugar and the kids (including guests) loved the cupcakes!
I'm very very happy with this product as you can tell. I'm a very good cook and my family expects extremely tasty foods from my kitchen, as do my guests and this product definitely helps me deliver!

This is the only packaged product of any kind I have liked. The pancakes were very comparable to Maple Groves original. You might also try their dressings and maple syrups some of which are gluten free!
