1 out of 5 stars Not worth even the low price   June 11, 2008
DandL's Mom (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
We have used this rice cooker for about the past year to make white and brown rice a few times per week. It was not our first cooker, and replaced one I had previously used for several years. Nothing about this cooker works well. The non-stick coating has become quite scratched, despite using only the plastic paddle included. Rice is unevenly cooked, and always overly browned and stuck to the bottom, making a large portion of the rice cooked inedible. This is particularly a problem with brown rice. Water sprays out of the hole in the lid, dirtying the counter (and anything we've mistakenly left nearby). Save your money and cook your rice on the stove top instead of buying this model.

3 out of 5 stars I first throught it's a toy...so small!   May 29, 2008

I've ordered this product based on a comparison with an 8 cup rice cooker we already have. Turns out that it means for this item here 6 cup COOKED rice. Our current one keeps 8 cups UNCOOKED rice and it's then 15/16 cups cooked rice.

When I opened up the package I first thought about a wrong item, as this is really a very small rice cooker compared to the one we have. Really thought it to be bigger.

Will have to use this one as an 'add-on' rice cooker for a time when 15/16 cups COOKED rice is not enough. I felt I wasted my money, as I could have gotten the big one (the one we have) for 20 dollar at Walgreens!

4 out of 5 stars Sticky Rice Cooker!   May 25, 2008
John A. Tedrick (Aurora, CO USA)
If you need to make rice for one or two people, and if you don't mind a rice cooker without all the extra features- this is a good one. The larger and better rice cookers have a lid that can be sealed and locked shut while the rice is cooking. This cooker will steam and spit and spray because it doesn't have a locking lid. I overcome most of that by placing the cooker by the sink and let most of the spray go over the sink.
How does it cook? I love sticky rice and it does a good job on it. Pretty good for something less than $15.00!

5 out of 5 stars Great Item at a Wonderful Price   May 11, 2008
H. Mendoza (South Korea)
Great Rice Cooker!!! I'm currently away from home and needed something small to get me through. This rice pot makes rice perfectly and the bottom doesn't burn. The keep warm feature works great and the rice is ready to go when you need it.
I was hesitant at first to purchase due to reviews on other websites but bought it anyway. I have no idea how people rated it in the past but this this great! For 13 dollars, go for it! My $80 dollar rice pot in storage is nothing compared to this...should have known all along that the higher dollar products never work as good as the cheaper ones.

1 out of 5 stars Worked 3 Times Perfectly , AND THEN WENT OUT!   April 25, 2008

It's being returned today -- tired of buying things that don't work. Yes, it was perfect for the first few times--- now it boils all over the countertop. Tried making only one cup -- followed directions explicitly -- and it still steamed all over the counters. Found my Target receipt and am taking it back.
